Here are some guidelines to help you get started faster. Please follow the steps below to get the most out of your time!
Step 1: Fill in Your Profile at app.buildateam.io
Register at app.buildateam.io/freelancer if you are a freelancer or app.buildateam.io/agency if you represent a team or an agency.
Fill in your profile. Your profile determines the most compatible projects for your specializations and skills. Here is an example of a good profile.
The following information is required before you can proceed to the next step:
- General Information
- Full Name
- Address
- Photo avatar
- Copy of Passport / Driving License / ID into section ‘Documents’
- Upload signed PDF contracts into ‘Contracts’ section
- Portfolio:
- About
- A couple of best projects to date
- Specializations & Skills:
- List skills you are passionate about and number of years of experience
- Billing Information:
- Hourly Rate
- Schedule:
- Local Time in your Timezone
- Contacts:
- Skype

Step 2: Interview
Prerequisite: Complete profile details at app.buildateam.io
After filling in your profile information please send an email to hr@buildateam.io or add our HR specialist on Skype to schedule an interview (please disregard if you already received instructions via email).
We use Google Calendar to schedule interviews. Please create a free gmail.com account if you don’t have one.
Interviews are conducted in English and consist of the following parts:
Language Skill Assessment and Identity Verification
This will be done via Skype Video Call. Please make sure to list your Skype ID under your app.buildateam.io profile.
You will also need to prepare a Government issued ID before the scheduled video call, this is for us to verify your identity. Also please upload a copy of a Government issued ID or passport pages with personal information and place of residence to the documents section of your app.buildateam.io profile.
Technical Assessment
You will be given instructions as to which test/s to take on https://app.buildateam.io/tests.
Test Task
You will be given a technical challenge from a real life situation that you must solve within 1 – 2 week. Frontend developers receive PSD files. Backend developers receive tasks with features that include databases, server side programming, API’s etc. DevOps get Docker / Cloud / Linux related tasks. The actual project may take 2 to 6 hours to complete. The code should be submitted to any public Git hosting provider and the link shared with the HR.
Technical Interview
A technical interview with one of the Team Leads. Questions on the specializations and skills marked in the profile, technical assessment results, and test project. Please also prepare your favorite IDE and be ready to share your screen. You will need to complete a number of simple logic tasks and answer technical questions.
After the above steps are completed, your profile will be approved to participate in projects, depending on your preferences & schedule.
Step 3: Signing NDA, Master Agreement, Assignment Orders
While registering you already accepted our Privacy Policy, User Agreement & NDA.
Additional contracts might be drafted based on the specific project requirements and sent to your electronically via DocuSign.
Step 4: Working on Projects
You will be contacted by someone from Buildateam to guide you through the project you are assigned to.
Update Schedule Tab to display what time you will be available in your local time zone, so that Project Managers know what time to set up calls with you and how much load to give you.
Please inform about vacations at least 3 weeks in advance.
While we understand that things happen, we appreciate if you proactively inform us if you won’t be available to work the hours agreed or absense due to sickness, family issues, etc.
If you disappear for more than 48 hours in a row without a notice or an update during a project, we reserve the right to cancel your contract.
Step 5: Getting Paid
Make sure all information is updated under billing tab at app.buildateam.io
Since some of the payment methods require manual processing, please send invoices via email every 15 days (twice a month) based on your project timesheets. How to track time.
Download Invoice Template. All fields in gray color need to be edited to reflect your details.
The invoice in pdf format should be sent to accounting@buildateam.io on 16th and last day of the month.
Payment will be sent within 15 days to the account marked as preferred in your app.buildateam.io account or marked on the invoice.

Information Required For International Wire Transfer For Business and Personal Accounts
Specify Bank details in English (full name of the bank, bank address, SWIFT, IBAN or account number. (Payment currency – USD).
Bank fee for international wire transfers is $45

Create an account and add your Wise account email to Invoice
Transfers will be made to that email.
